A pictorial and artistic history of Arroyo Hondo Canyon, the Jewel of the Gaviota Coast, from the cultural transitions of Chumash, Spanish, Mexican, and Americanos through the corridors of transportation over time. In 2001 J.J. Hollister III guided the owning families in the sale of the 782 acre ranch to the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County. The Arroyo Hondo Preserve works as careful stewards of the land while welcoming students, scientists, artists and nature lovers to experience this treasured place.
